We are delighted to advise members of an exciting development for our golf club.

Family First for KJVI

Believed to be a first for UK golf, King James VI Golf Club, Perth has introduced free family golf.

Any existing or new adult member can now register their spouse or partner and their under 16 years of age children, or grandchildren to play as often as they like with them free of charge.

Any Junior with full membership can extend this to a parent or grandparent.

The associate members can play social golf with their full member relative anytime outside competition times.

Club Captain, Charlie Scrim said about this bold initiative, “this move by KJVI Perth is consistent with the wider Scottish Golf strategy towards more flexible, family orientated and social golf.”

Charlie added, “The future of golf development in Scotland has to be about opening up golf beyond the established boundaries of competition golf for the older and reducing single middle aged adult demographic.”

The move retains all of the benefits of full membership whilst taking all of the facilities - a renowned 160 year old Tom Morris designed 18 Hole Island golf course, fully serviced clubhouse, lockers and practise areas - towards the community via the family.

The family arrangement, which is an automatic benefit of full membership, aims to help more kids and their parents into golf.
